Moving into a new house, whether it is truly new or just new to you, is exciting. You begin making plans for your life and see it unfolding in the rooms of your new house. But the feng shui of new houses is different than houses where someone has lived a long time.

There are situations about the house that you’ll need to think about before you move in. Check the tips below for ideas on what you need to know about new house chi and feng shui.

Get a feng shui consultation before buying and moving in.

Many times people set up a consultation after moving into a new house. The ideal time to get a consultation is before moving or buying the house. This way, the consultant can advise you on potential problems. But, if you didn’t or couldn’t get a feng shui consultation, having one after you move in is still a good idea.

Clear the house before moving in.

Houses hold on to energies, memories and the vibrations of all those who lived in them. This makes a house clearing an important part of moving in effectively. You’ll want to make sure the house is thoroughly cleaned and that you buy new brooms and mops for the house. Then you’ll want to do a space clearing. The articles below will be helpful for how to do the clearing and moving in.

Starting over.

Residents of new homes often feel like they are low on energy in the new home. That’s because when you start over in a new home, you’re starting with a blank slate. It takes time for your energy to equilibrate with the new home and often moving into a new home feels like a drain instead of a boost. But, don’t worry, you can build chi quickly!

Add growing energy.

Chi is built over time and the more time you spend in a house the more the house takes on an imprint of your energies. To get your house started with great chi, give it some good energy to begin with. Purchase new plants, keep fresh flowers in the house and add landscaping to the house.

This is especially important if the house has been unoccupied a long time or if the last owners had negative circumstances such as divorce, bankruptcy or health problems. Plus, plants have great, growth energy. Adding new landscaping and having pretty flowers at the front door is one of the best ways to give your home great energy.

Add happy chi.

There’s a reason people hold house blessing and house warming parties – they bring great chi to the home! The more happy people you have in your house, the better the chi.

Having a party or barbecue at your home brings in an imprint of festivities, positive feelings and starts building the chi of your new home with this type of chi that brings good fortune to the house. Make an effort to host lots of get togethers in your new home to put your imprint on it and raise the home’s energy.

New home money problems.

Some new homes can create problems. You are starting over with a completely new set of natal energies to the home and it can influence your life startlingly. This is a good time to get a feng shui consultation.

What if your income declines in a new home? This happens a lot. If it happens to you, then chances are, it’s just part of the new house energy. One cause of money problems could be the new arrangement, a front door lined up with windows, stairs or a backdoor, for example.

This happened to me and money flew out of the house until we spent almost $10,000 to fix it – but we knew this going in. Once we created a foyer at the front door with a set of doors, we blocked the view from the front door out to the back door. This is just one example, but it does sometimes happen in a new house, and might be a good idea to have a feng shui consultation if money becomes a problem.

New home health problems.

This also happens a lot. We resonate with our homes and they resonate with us. When we make a big change and move into a new home, we have to align our energies again, and that includes our health energies.

One thing that happens a lot with newly constructed homes is the off-gassing of wood floors, carpeting, paint and other volatile organic compounds (VOCs). So in this case, it’s not the feng shui of the house but the construction. Moving in can make sensitive respiratory systems go haywire because of the off-gassing. You also may not be aware of water leaks and the house could have a mold problem. The mold can easily be checked. But in the case of the off gassing, simply airing out the house or replacing the heating and air filters specially made for VOCs can help.

In 2016, The Year of the Monkey holds some big changes and wonderful opportunities. Women will really enjoy the Monkey year!

Like all years, though, it also has its challenges.

But if you're prepared and put your remedies and enhancements in place, you’ll do just fine. If you really make an effort, this could be the year you take BIG STEPS. That’s because women have some terrific energy that can help them set a plan in place that could pay off for years!

Areas of Concern

Security and Safety First.

This year it’s more important than ever to stay on the side of caution — and in every respect — and for everyone in your family. Make sure you are thorough with contracts, read the fine print, check your credit card statements for fraudulent charges and do background checks on questionable people (single girls are you listening?). Don’t take a smooth talker at his word or job promises without getting it in writing.

Make sure to check locks, invest in a burglar alarm and don’t go out alone at night. Make sure your family is safe, too. Make the kids wear their bike helmets, buckle up in the car, and be extra cautious about the oldest son. Risky sports and rough sports can bring injuries.

Watch your words -- especially on the job.

The 3 star in the northwest sector (bosses) and the 2 star in the center sector and the 7 star in the career sector all create a nasty triangle of bitter talk. Avoid gossip at all costs — both personally and at work, but especially at work. You will get caught up in a “triangulation” of gossip at work and it will cost you even if you don’t instigate it.

Jobs can also be lost because of the 7 star and work relationships can be harmed by “cutting” words. Hold your tongue this year and count to ten. As a rule, it will be better to listen than speak…but that’s good advice anytime, isn’t it? But, it’s especially true this year. Keep your ear to the ground this year in case there are layoffs. Have your resume up to date just in case. Be careful about injuries on the job, especially if your travel for work.

If your bedroom or front door is in the north, make sure you wear plenty of blue and black clothes and have blue and black colors in your bedroom. You may want to invest in something like the evil eye amulet to help keep you from harm at work or from injury.

Health can be a challenge.

The 2 star flies to the center sector, the sector of the spine. But most of the problems the 2 star causes are mild and annoying versus serious. Make sure you take care when lifting anything or you could aggravate an old back injury -- or have a new one.

It won't be bad, but it will take you out of commission for a while. Keep healthy lush plants in the center sector of the house or living room and add metal objects here such as a 6 rod wind chime, wu luo and Happy Buddha to protect your health and wealth.

It’s also a year for challenges across the board for health because of the 5 Yellow in the northeast sector. This is the sector of the hands and the mind. Take care when working with your hands or doing anything like roller skating -- many wrists are broken trying to break a fall.

It's critical that you watch ailments this year if your bedroom or front door is in the northeast corner of the house.

Please heed this warning: have all symptoms checked out immediately if your front door or bedroom is located here. You should be especially cautious if this is your bedroom. If you can move out of this room, it would be wise.

You can help alleviate the influence of the 5 Yellow, which is known for tumors, cancer, broken bones, major financial problems and severe accident, if you have a 5 Element Pagoda and metal objects here . Having a pendulum clock or a ceiling fan constantly turning is wise. If this is your front door, add lush healthy plants to protect your health.

Make sure you keep those annual appointments with the dentist and doctor.

Don’t put off any health symptoms that concern you because these could mushroom into a bigger problem. This is true for the whole family and for rabbits, in particular. Boars and Rabbit zodiac signs should be cautious about injuries by metal (i.e., car, sharp objects, etc.) and they should carry amulets to protect them.

Areas for Growth

Wealth gains coming this year for women.

There is good business potential in the southwest corner of relationships and women. You can get ahead in the year by thinking strategically in business by partnering with women or joining up with your significant other or spouse. Women host the 8 Wealth star to help them get make strong job gains and this bodes especially well for women entrepreneurs.

The word to focus on for gaining income and financial opportunities? Partnership. Make sure you activate both the southwest sector of women and the southeast wealth sector with a dragon tortoise or fish to activate the water (read: WEALTH) energy!

We also have good potential this year to get ahead by rubbing elbows with influential friends.

The number 6 good fortune star is in the south, the sector of networking and socializing. You could find that it's a good idea to attend networking events, go to socializing activities after work or fostering relationships with influential friends and asking for favors. Ask those movers and shakers you know for advice and they may just mentor you or take you under their wing.

Trying to get pregnant? This is the year the pregnancy star is in the east sector so you have some cosmic help there -- especially if you'd like a boy. 2015 was a good year to try for a girl; in 2016, it's a boy. Spend lots of time here and add fresh flowers to boost your chances of becoming pregnant. Looking for more ideas about feng shui for fertility? Be sure to check out my FREE ebook on feng shui for fertility.

Wealth potential from investments, working on your portfolio.

Despite what the stock market has done, it will pay to invest some time and energy in your assets such as retirement and stock accounts. This year the White 1 star of income means that there's an opportunity to grow wealth assets. If you haven't started an investment account (yet), this is the year to do it. Adding a water fountain or dragon tortoise in the southeast sector where the income star has flown to will help you get a leg up on those investment accounts this year.

Love gets a boost in 2016.

The 4 love and education star has moved to the west and that means the west corner of your house holds the greatest potential for love energy. Make sure you boost this area with crystals. It's also the area associated with education, so having a globe located here will help you with exams, writing and moving ahead in education. This bodes well for children. Have them study in this part of the house or living room.

Like many year recently, water is a missing element. Stress (particularly verbal stress) can run high this year. Health might be strained. That’s why a vacation to the beach or lake is your best bet for relaxation. Water will soothe angry words and frayed nerves. Be sure to wear blue, carry a blue purse (for money energy!), and try to take time by water either with swimming, listening to a waterfall, or just staring at the ocean.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7441309243944405856.post-14679208727823830552016-01-08T14:55:00.002-08:002016-01-08T14:57:27.778-08:00What to do when you can't focus or make a decision? In feng shui, deferred maintenance on a house means deferred money. In other words, if you’ve put off replacing that cracked window or cutting down a dead tree, you’re likely not receiving all the money you could be if your home were in good repair.

Why is repairing your home so important to feng shui?

In a word: chi.

The chi, or energy, of a home declines when it’s got leaking faucets or roof, when the paint is peeling or when it’s dirty and cluttered.

Simply looking at a home that’s not in good repair gives a depressed or sad feeling. You see a house – and the occupants who live there – that are in decline. Millionaires live in beautiful, attractive and maintained surroundings. If you’ve deferred maintaining your house, you could be deferring wealth too.

Rarely is the case that when a homeowner is successful, that the house is falling down. In fact, it’s most often the case that as a homeowner becomes more successful, the more a house represents that success with pretty plantings, fresh paint, clean windows and a clean interior.

That’s because a home with successful occupants often have lawn and cleaning services to help them keep the home in good condition.

But even if you’re not a millionaire, you can still live like one in your home, and often, you’ll find that when the house is neat, tidy, uncluttered and in good repair, you feel better and more confident. A millionaire’s home is usually attractive and clean, and by emulating that, you will raise your home’s chi, which in turn, raises your own.

Improving your home can improve your life. Simply improving the maintenance on your house, your home pays you back in improved energy, greater opportunities and more satisfaction and contentment in life – and, yes, even in money.

Use these tips on home maintenance to the critical areas that help you create millionaire financial energy around your home.

1. Start at the front. If your sidewalk is cracked and lifted from tree roots, it’s unlikely that opportunity will make it’s to your front door. Give the front of your house some TLC in the form of a landscape makeover, including checks on sidewalks, porches, mailboxes, light fixtures and front door. Work on your curb appeal – it will pay you in increased income and opportunity.

2. Check for leaks. From gutters to the roof, the kitchen sink to garden hoses, when water is leaking, so is money. Water can also be a source of emotional problems – whether that’s an empty swimming pool (missing water=missing money) or a case of black mold (spending on what you don’t want). When water is either completely missing or too abundant, emotions can be more volatile. Make sure that water issues are carefully attended to because of their emotional/financial implications.

3. Sparkling windows represent clarity. Can’t focus or make a decision? Maybe it’s because the windows need cleaning. Windows represent the eyes and the way we take information in. Dirty windows hamper our ability to see our financial situations clearly.

4. Beaten up doors and walls. When doors are scratched by the dog, walls are dirty from handprints, the feeling is that opportunity is missing and that life in general is in decline and a feeling of hopelessness settles in. Repaint walls and repair doors. Doors are the way chi enters the house – especially the front door. Make sure the way to the front door is open and attractive and that all doors work properly and smoothly. A sticky front door stymies opportunity and money and door problems are energy problems.

5. Lighten up to lift your financial chi. Never let light fixtures fill up with bugs or allow bulbs to stay burned out. Dirty lamps or fixtures, dim bulbs and burned out bulbs create the inability to see life clearly or develop initiative in your financial life. Never underestimate the power of lighting to lift your financial chi – or bring it down if they’re burned out.

6. Let the landscape go. This is a sure way to create severe financial hardship. When a landscape has dead or has overgrown plants and weeds in the grass, there are major financial obstacles. The millionaire secret is always to pay attention to the grounds. Even if your yard is small, give it impact and put money into it because landscaping pays off financially and in your health and vitality.

7. Hang on to everything. A great way to have less is to hang on to everything. Millionaire closets are neat and orderly and usually aren’t stuffed to the gills. Creating room for more is the singular best way to achieving more. Don’t be afraid to get rid of as much as possible to create more room in your life for what you want. Money is energy and when your house has too much stuff, there’s little room left for prosperity to come in.

8. Give it a good scrub. Cleanliness they say is next to godliness, and it’s true. Giving your home’s exterior a good wash with a pressure washer, and the interior a good wash, especially the kitchen results in better energy, and better energy means more money. The kitchen, and stove in particular, represent wealth, so keep them sparkling!

While it’s not a pretty subject to talk about, Karen deftly connects clutter in the house with the symbol of our internal clutter we all deal with daily: our colon.

She writes that your home is connected to every part of your body, and your colon is too.

The idea is that by looking at both your home’s clutter and removal of what’s unnecessary, used up and needing to be purged, as well as the health of your colon, you’ll create greater health and well-being in all parts of your life.

What’s interesting is that she contends by clearing up your colon, you can help rid yourself of emotional issues that may have been buried for years. Heal Your Body guru Louise Hay says that stomach problems are based on dread and fear of new situations and circumstances. Even bad breath can be a symptom of stomach issues, and one that Hay says is a fixation on thoughts of revenge or personal experiences backing up.

Either way, both are about the past. And that’s true of clutter. It’s about holding on to what’s no longer useful.

I’ve seen clients finally be able to move past emotional blockages in their lives, marriages and careers after a thorough decluttering and cleaning. I’ve also seen resistant clients who love their thrift store and eBay buys and who can never seem to move forward in their lives, staying forever stuck in problems from their past as they live through other people’s castoffs.

If you’ve had stomach or elimination system complaints, take a look at these feng shui tips for helping you clear clutter – both at home and in your colon – and see if your life and elimination system improve.

Heel hemorrhoids.

In the house, hemorrhoids and fissures can often show up as clutter and mess at the back door. Yes, the backdoor of your home symbolizes your body’s “back door” too! Clear out clutter and mess by the door, keep it swept and clear to help if you’ve got hemorrhoid problems.

Constipation equals clutter. Clutter equals constipation.

Whether it’s inside you or surrounding you, clutter and excess represents matter (or matters?) that haven’t been gotten rid of or handled. Work on clearing out excess clutter, particularly at the back of the house (the less public side) and the back door.

Work on emotional matters too. Lay problems to rest – or handle them once and for all. Many stomach complaints can be symbols of denial and refusal to address matters and problems and resolve them.

Hidden clutter symbolizes stomach issues.

Because constipation represents what’s hidden, look for hidden clutter such as the kind found in drawers (like those infamous junk drawers), desks and closets as a source of constipation. Streamline drawers and add organizers to make these areas more orderly.

Another common indicator of constipation? A messy desk. Little sticky notes, random papers and ancient or non-working pens and pencils are a good sign that there’s a stoppage in your colon or stomach problems.

Emotions in the stomach.

When there are difficulties with the stomach, there are often problems with the area representing the abdominal area in our home, the southwest. When the stomach is out of balance, so are the emotions because this is where we process many of our negative emotions (spleen, pancreas, liver, colon, kidney, stomach – fear, anger, worry, depression). Stomach problems can range from stomach rumbling, gas, diarrhea or constipation.

When emotions are out of balance, we often feel it “in our gut.” Work on the southwest corner of your home, living room, the bedroom, your home office, the kitchen and the dining room. Keeping these corners clear and clean will help your stomach and your emotional health, and help relieve you of negative emotions.

Kick digestive problems.

Foot problems give lots of clues about problems in the body. Problems with the big toes, such as callouses and toenail issues can point to problems with the neck. Soreness on the inside ankles or arches can indicate kidney or bladder issues. And the heel? It shows problems too. When the heels are cracked it can indicate anal fissures or hemorrhoids.

Get regular pedicures to keep feet and stomach health in good condition.

If you have severe foot problems such as fungus, be sure to see a podiatrist or your physician as severe foot problems can create a myriad of digestive and bodily complaints. Regular reflexology treatments are also a good idea for keeping the whole body in tip top shape.

The front door is the single most important area of your home. It determines the quality of the energy that enters your home – and that directly influences the quality of energy in important life areas, such as wealth, opportunity, health and relationship success.

The entrance to your home is directly influenced by the way it looks.

Realtors know this as “curb appeal.” When a house looks great at the entrance, it’s extremely inviting to potential buyers. But look at it another way. When a house has a great front door and curb appeal, it also is extremely inviting to chi and helps build and lift chi at your home.

Once of the ways that the Chinese have used feng shui to influence their home’s energy, and by default, their feng shui is by creating attractive and strong entrances. This often includes having a pair of door guardians to protect and enhance their front doors. You can see these guardians in many locations from temples to hotels, homes to casinos.

The Chinese use door guardians such as fu dogs or chi lins.

Fu dogs are probably the most common door guardians and are most often used in the west. Fu dogs, though called “dogs,” actually mean lion and are sometimes spelled foo instead of fu. Chi lins are often used more interchangeably in the East with fu dogs. The chi lin is also called dragon horse or Chinese unicorn.

Statues of these guardians traditionally stood in front of Chinese palaces, tombs, temples, and the homes of the wealthy, and have beenn believed to provide powerful protective and empowering benefits. Sometimes they’re simply called “temple lions.”

You’ll often see them in pairs in front of buildings, and sometimes, their motif is used in other ways, like on door knockers to provide protection.

Regardless of which animal you prefer, or what you call them, both fu dogs and chi lins offer important protective energy. Protectors placed at your door not only protect it, they also empower it, and all who live there.

Why protect your door way?

Unfortunately, there are people with negative intentions who are interested in taking what you have, are envious of you, who may talk badly about you or want to steal from you. The door guardians send an energetic signal out that protects your home from these bad intentions.

Another reason to use door guardians is because of annual energies.

Each year, feng shui changes and the energies shift, making protecting your front door even more important when a negative energy, such as the 3 Killings, 5 Yellow or Red 7 hits the front of your house. Having these door guardians will also help protect you from these energies as well.

Remember to balance the size of the guardians with the size of your home and door.

Door guardians should always be placed facing out. If you choose to have fu dogs at your home or office, make sure to place them properly. Fu dogs are typically sold in pairs, with a male and a female. The male has his paw on a round ball. He should be placed on the left as you look out from the house, and the female, with her paw on a small cub, should be placed on the right as you look out from the house.
Luckily in feng shui there is a wonderful technique for activating the energies associated with all of the usual aspirations that everyone wants: love, wealth, health, happiness, good fortune.

It involves using gems and crystals, and when used correctly, can almost magically bring about anything you desire.

Gems and crystals are powerful symbols of our earthly desires and they are powerful activators. Gems are regarded as earth’s most beautiful and precious energy made manifest in clear, beautiful, sparkling stones. These stones are widely regarded as storehouses of this beautiful earth energy – and potent objects to ground your deepest desires and help them come to fruition.

Don’t believe me? Think about one of the most common gem activators. It’s the engagement ring, a serious activator and symbol of love and commitment. The size, quality, and beauty of stone is often used to transmit the intent and desire of the man to make his intentions known to a woman, which in this case, is marriage.

But stones and crystals can be used to manifest more than just marriage.

Used in your life, gems bring precious earth energy to your goals and dearest wishes!

It’s better if you find one beautiful stone and make a single wish with great focus and intention, such as a large faux diamond, geode or rose quartz heart.

Keep your focus on this intention until you see it come to fruition. Also, be sure you give plenty of attention to your gem and don’t disregard your crystals.

To get the best results, place your wish fulfilling gem where you see it and activate it regularly, such as at your bedside table, your desk (my favorite), or your living room. When placed here, you can put your gems under a light to help activate them. You can even put it in a window where the sunlight will hit your gem and activate it. It’s especially helpful to raise the gem up so that the light can penetrate and activate the entire crystal.

As wonderfully as these magic activators work, you must be sure to do your part, too. If you’re interested in creating opportunities for love, get out there and circulate. If you want to lose weight, be sure to modify your eating and exercise more. But, support it with a gem.

So now that you have learned this wonderful – and potent – feng shui tip, it’s your turn to find a gem and activate any and all of your wishes!

Select one special POWER gem.

When you have a dear desire, such as to get married or attract love, select a large faux diamond and place it next to your bed or on your desk – anywhere you’ll see it and can activate it with light. Treat it special and keep it clean.

Focus on your desire to attract your perfect mate. You can do this with any special wish or desire you have. If it’s a work-related wish you have, keep your gem at work where you see it often.

Surround your Chinese astrology sign with gems.

Looking to enhance yourself or members of your family? Create a gem bowl with a variety of gems. Place small figures of each family member’s astrology animal sign in the bowl to use as an enhancer. You or your family will find yourself receiving more opportunities and exciting new ventures coming to you as a result.

See your ship come in with gems.

Sailing ships have long been activators of arriving wealth. Take that one step further by loading your ship figurine with crystals or faux diamonds. Crystals placed on the body of a ship figure are a great way to represent your wealth sailing into your life. Make sure ships seem to be sailing into the house, office, or room.

Choose gem colors by your wish.

Green crystals will bring health and family luck, red crystals bring fame and recognition for your desire (perfect for an ambitious person!), blue crystals can be used for business opportunities and career advancement (and the money that comes with it), white crystals bring luck with children, creativity, and helpful people and mentors, yellow, pink and amber bring opportunities for education, love, and romance. Pink is especially powerful for bringing you attention for love.

Pick your gems with care.

Always choose clear, sparkling and beautiful gems that appeal to you. Glass, crystal, and natural gems are all perfectly acceptable activators of your wishes. Make sure the gems are not cloudy or unappealing to you in any way. Keep them clean and dust-free.

Put your gems to work.

Have a certain business you’re looking to attract? Place the name of that business or a picture of the person associated with the business or a business card on top of your diamond. If you want a commitment from a reluctant suitor, place a picture of your beloved on top of the diamond. A certain clothing size is what you’re after? Use a green colored gem and place a picture of your slimmer self on the gemstone.
Beautiful plants and flowers lift the energy of your home, bringing beautiful healthy growing chi. Surrounding your home with vibrant plantings is also a good idea for real estate reasons.

Realtors say that nice landscaping is one of the all-important components of curb appeal – and that can be good for your home if you’re trying to sell it. Even if you’re not in the market to sell your home, beautiful landscaping brings greater value to your home and makes living there more enjoyable.

And the most auspicious part of plants? Flowers. They are are the yang expression of a plant.

From a purely feng shui perspective, nice landscaping adds wonderful chi to your home. In your life that translates to good health, happier relationships, and added prosperity. Flowering blooms aren’t just lovely to look at, they can promote love and are regarded as symbols of good fortune and bring auspicious energy.

In addition to planting flowers, you can use them to brighten up your home by displaying them in vases in your home. This is especially helpful if you’re trying to sell your home as a mixed bouquet brings bright, happy yang energy to the house. Think of flowers as the way a plant smiles – and those smiles create happy feelings for visitors to your home or prospective buyers.

Bear in mind, though, that dried flowers are generally regarded as dead energy, making them unsuitable for lifting chi. Here are some more important guidelines on flower feng shui.

Display flowers as an offering.

If you’d like to imbue fresh, spring-time or renewal energy for yourself or your home, place flowers in a vase according to the energy you wish to inspire. For healing energy, select white flowers, for love choose pink, and for wealth, display purple or gold flowers.

Offer flowers to those in need.

When friends or family members are ill, offer them a bouquet of white flowers, such as magnolia or lilies. If friends or family are in need of more prosperity, offer a bulb flower, such as narcissus to inspire greater wealth. Golden-colored chrysanthemum and narcissus are always a good choice, too, for promoting wealth chi, particularly when moving into a new home, beginning a new undertaking, or at the beginning of the New Year. Pink hued flowers represent fond affection and happiness and are perfect for friends and creating loving ties.

Singles should display peonies.

The Chinese have long held that peony flowers are the flower of romance and many a young Chinese woman displayed red peonies, the ultimate symbol of youthful love and romance. Singles who wish to marry should display a vase of peonies or a painting of the blossoms in the living room, where they represent seeking love versus in the bedroom where the flowers are a symbol of carnal love.

The lotus is the flower of enlightenment.

As a symbol of purity, the lotus rises from the muddy waters to bloom, symbolizing rising above the worldly problems. Buddhas are often shown seated in a lotus and the Buddhist chant Om Mani Padme Hum literally means “Hail to the Jewel in the Lotus.” As such, it’s highly regarded as a symbol of great good fortune and enlightenment. The flower represents unending success and ceaseless abundance. Display these in a vase or as a painting or figure to inspire your life and home.

Orchids are the career flower.

Despite their reputation as fickle flowers, orchids are quite simple to raise and bring beautiful career chi to those who display them. Purple orchids bring opportunity and success and are regarded as the most beneficial color to display. In a living room, the orchid bestows family luck and harmony.

Flowers to symbolize prosperity, success, and wealth.

Chrysanthemum seen so abundantly in floral shops and in fall gardens represents bumper harvests, abundant joy and a long, fruitful life. Other flowers that represent acquired wealth include bulb flowers such as narcissus, tulips, paperwhites, gladiolas, iris or lily.

Flowering branches represent longevity, overcoming adversity.

Whether it’s a plum, cherry, or peach branch, flowering branches because they typically bloom in winter represent overcoming obstacles. These are wonderful reminders of succeeding after difficulties and of longevity.

Flower cleansing baths purify and uplift.

To create essential yang chi and clear your mind and rejuvenate your body, simply bathe in a bathtub that has been sprinkled with the petals of at least five different flowers in the five colors of the five elements. There should be pink, yellow, white, blue, and green petals from flowers or herbs, like rosemary, in your bath. You may also wish to include Bach flower essential oils in your bathe to help create a beautiful aroma as well, or use fragrant flowers such as lavender, jasmine or gardenia to perfume your water. This uplifting ritual will help to infuse your body with beautiful yang energy and soothe your mind.

Choose color combinations carefully.

Although beautiful, red flowers are not regarded as auspicious for giving to someone who is ill and should be avoided when visiting someone sick or giving at the beginning of a relationship as the color can be overpowering and "flame out" the romance. Red peonies symbolize passionate, amorous love and can reawaken a dormant sex life for a couple when displayed in the living room.

When giving flowers in a new relationship, opt for sentimental colors such as pink or yellow or a combination of these colors. Red and white flowers should never be put together, but a rainbow of colors is always a good color option as long as all colors are represented. Purple is regarded as auspicious and harbinger of prosperous times and success, as is gold. Purple, gold and white are especially harmonious and auspicious.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7441309243944405856.post-62310458433085799092015-11-21T23:13:00.000-08:002015-11-21T23:13:10.753-08:00Feng Shui Wu Luo Protects Health and Creates TransformationThere is a strong emphasis on protection and longevity in feng shui. There are few symbols that offer both like the precious wu luo. The wu luo is revered both in Buddhist and Taoist circles as a symbol of long life and perfect health.

The wu luo is known by many names, such as hulu, bottle gourd, calabash or wu luo. It’s often called a calabash because of the calabash tree that the gourds grew from. The gourds were often used to carry water after they dried and were hollowed out.

Because the wu luo is in a figure eight shape, it is also reputed to symbolize both heaven and earth, with heaven being at the top and earth at the bottom. Its figure eight shape is considered auspicious for wealth and prosperity. Sometimes the gourd is looked upon as magical and having the beneficial properties of transmuting problems and surmounting difficulties.

In feng shui, the wu luo is most often shown as a metal figure or as the wooden gourd itself. Displaying these will enhance your life and add protection for health and from accidents or early death. However, in today’s home stores, you can often find ceramic vases and lamps in the classical wu luo shape. Adding these to your décor is both classic and timeless – and brings benefits to all in your home.

Here are six ways you can use a wu luo for greater health, protection against maliciousness, protection for health and as a remedy for afflictions.

1. Protect you against the 2 Black and 5 Yellow afflictions.

Wu luos are often made of brass or metal. These are the best protectors against the health problems associated with both the 2 and 5 afflictions. The metal element and the health-enhancing properties of the wu luo make this an effective cure against accidents, nagging illnesses, serious injuries and major sickness and broken bones that the 2 and 5 stars can inflict.

2. Create healthful, growing energy.

When we feel stagnant and stuck, a wu luo can bring healthy energy that helps us grow. Choose a symbol such as a necklace, jade pendant or other talisman, such as a purse charm to carry with you and promote good fortune and good, healthy growing energy.

3. Transmute problems.

The magical gourd can take malevolent energies of the bad intentions or gossip of others and transform it so that it cannot harm you. Adding a wu luo at your work desk or bedside can help protect you from their destructive aims and promote your health and well-being.

4. Attract beneficial energies.

Many gods and deities are shown holding a wu luo as it is associated with the nectar of immortality and protection for the living. Because of this, the wu luo is believed to attract beneficial energies and benevolent beings who can help and assist you in life.

5. Recover from illness.

Whenever you or a loved one has fallen ill, place a wu luo next to your bedside to enhance and speed your recovery. The wu luo will help to promote good health and displace the illness by absorbing and transmuting the illness energy.

6. Enhance health and state of mind for the whole family.

Enhancing the family relationships, oldest son, healthy and vital growing energy, be sure and place a wu luo in the east corner of the living room. The wu luo will promote vitality and help provide a mental and physical lift if you suffer from ill health, depression or worry.
In America, we celebrate all our blessings and bounty with the Thanksgiving holiday. It's often everyone's most favorite holiday because it just involves eating and enjoying.

For some families, this is only the first, or maybe, second time they have eaten in the dining room in a year.

Regardless of whether you dine in there regularly or not, there are some simple feng shui rules about the dining room that you will want to observe anytime.

Arguments start at the table? Excess wood energy is to blame. Put a red or orange tablecloth on the table to diffuse arguments and exhaust the wood energy that gets everyone bickering. The red color will make everyone hungry and focus on the food instead of who got Aunt Martha’s china. Alternatively, use a candle in your centerpiece to burn up excess wood energy.

Provide for fun. Give your guests something to do such as games, cards, or even silly MadLibs that gets them interacting (instead of just staring at the TV). These are great fun for adults and kids and only require a MadLibs pad and a pencil for great fun that’s contained and gets everyone participating. Best of all? All that fun and laughing brings your house beautiful happiness chi!

Burn pine or cinnamon scented candles. This stimulates appetite and is a natural scent from trees (cinnamon is a type of tree bark). Avoid sweet floral scents. Unscented candles are fine, too.

Arrange seating to face one another. Position chairs and sofas to face one another. This will keep feelings more convivial and prevent everyone from being “at odds” with each other, the way L-shaped seating so often does. It will also keep everyone in the living room and out of the kitchen where you’re trying to work culinary magic!

More Holiday Do’s and Don’ts

DO display your china and crystal. The dining room is a place of wealth, and for that reason, it is always auspicious to display your family crystal, china, or silver. Consider adding mirrors to the back of a china cabinet to “double” the amount of crystal and china you have. And USE that beautiful silver, china and crystal!

DO have bright, beautiful lighting. A beautiful chandelier is a wonderful addition to the dining room. If yours isn’t bright enough or attractive to you, replace it with another fixture. Lighting is very auspicious.

DO hang mirrors here. Mirrors are stimulating and they double the good times by doubling the food and company in the room.

DON’T have clocks in the dining room. Clocks in the dining room bring bad energy; actually, they symbolize death. Remember, the passage of time is not important while you are enjoying a meal and the company of those closest to you. Take clocks out of the dining room.

DON’T eat with the dead. So many people have pictures of deceased relatives in the dining room. Avoid doing this because it creates an extremely yin dining experience — and that can create health problems.

DON’T eat with animals. It is better not to have animals in the dining room, real or otherwise. If you have pictures of birds or statues of animals — or even your dog, Spot — take them out of there. Animals symbolically eat your food. Better to put them in another location.

DON’T use paper plates. Even if you have a big crowd, DO use real plates, china, and crystal. This is a time to celebrate abundance and material wealth and paper plates are poor symbols on such an auspicious holiday!

Of course, the growth I’m talking about is the growth in your life, your career, your relationships, and your wealth. We’re not so different than the beautiful plants you buy at the local nursery that look wonderful but then need to be divided or repotted into a larger pot — everything grows.

Your life is a living, growing thing.

When you’re overwhelmed by stuff, like a plant, you outgrow your pot and that’s when you start to see your relationships suffer, your business opportunities dry up, your health and vitality sapped, and finances become tighter and more restrictive.

Worse than all the stuff and visual blight that clutter represents is the way it robs you and your home of vital, happy, and lively energy. Decluttering helps to remove blockages from your life that stop the flow of energy to you and everything you enjoy.

Life is energy

All life requires growth, evolution and movement. When we lack these elements in our life, the energy that makes up our lives becomes stunted. Imagine not having enough energy to power a light bulb: it grows dim and burns in a weakened state. When we have overstuffed homes – especially with outdated, unused and unloved items, our lives become weakened too.

But how do you know when it’s clutter and when it’s disorganization?

Clutter is when you have eight spatulas or a closet full of clothes you haven’t worn in years. Disorganization is when you can’t find what you’re looking for. Simply organizing your home with shelving, baskets, boxes, and other organizers will often clean up the disarray. In fact, by using organizing items you can often make more room than if you didn’t use them.

Look at your challenges to find the kind of organizers you need. Is the big mess in the kitchen or the bathroom? Maybe the living room is out of control. You might not be able to find an important bill that needs to be paid because you don’t have a place to put the bills when they come in. No matter what your need is, there are containers of every possible size and description that can help you organize your house where you need it.

Unlike a tornado, clutter doesn’t just happen. It gets that way over time.

Sometimes clutter is so insidious that we don’t even notice it until we’re deluged by it. Hopefully, you’ve learned some things about clutter, like what it is, what to do about it, and how it’s different than disorganization. But, just like any good habit, such as exercise, decluttering isn’t something you do and then it’s done: it’s something you start and then keep doing.

Too often people are bitten by the declutter bug and make one big push to declutter. That’s wonderful and having your clutter cleared in one fell swoop feels incredible and unburdens you. Most of the time, though, clutter is related to a vitamin deficiency. Either someone is frozen in fear and doesn’t do anything about the clutter, usually because they’re just overwhelmed, or they do it once or then forget about it for the next 25 years. The key to both is Vitamin C – “consistent C.”

Schedule it

Having a regular routine for decluttering is the single best way to keep it from getting out of hand. Pick a daily time that’s convenient such as every day at four o’clock. Then, spend fifteen or so minutes working at removing clutter (tossing mail, magazines, clearing out the refrigerator). Make it long enough you can accomplish something but not so long that you’ll give up.

Declutter with other activities

Instead of just putting freshly-washed towels away toss out your old tired towels first. Or, while your child is getting ready for bed, take a moment to go through some drawers and remove outgrown or stained clothing. Decluttering as you do other things makes decluttering part of daily living — and that creates a routine.

Make it a habit to be aware

Don’t unload groceries into the refrigerator that’s messy or cluttered with jelly jars with only a teaspoon of jam in them. Instead, quickly go through the fridge and toss old items out and wipe down shelves before restocking, and do the same in the pantry – this is the quality of being present with clutter and your environment. Likewise, if you take a phone message and the pen you’re using doesn’t work, make it a habit to throw it away and not put it back in the holder (and I know you do this).

Be present

Becoming present means that you are aware where you are. That sounds obvious, but if you’ll start becoming more aware and present wherever you are, you’ll notice that you stop forgetting things and misplacing items and you’ll notice how your home and office stay cleaner and neater more easily.

You’ll also notice that you get more accomplished, you’ll scratch things off your mental and physical to-do lists, you’ll become less patient with people who drain you and you’ll get three very valuable qualities back into your life again. They are initiative, motivation and enthusiasm: the zest of living.

Yes, old, broken, crowded, and too-much stuff can do that to you — rob you of your zest for living. Free yourself and become aware of what you have and what you really use or don’t use. Getting rid of useless items will unburden your home, mind and spirit and will open up your life again to all kinds of new and wonderful opportunities.

One of the most difficult tasks in feng shui is to divide up your house into 9 equal squares in feng shui and to reliably assign the corners of the house according to the bagua. Instead, I suggest you use a lo shu square that resembles a tic tac toe grid.

Many use the bagua, or octagon, but it’s often easier to use the lo shu square. The lo shu’s purpose is to help you see where the various corners are in your house and they way they fall in your home’s particular layout more easily.

Using a lo shu grid is so helpful. Many people try to apply feng shui and wonder why it’s not working, and it often turns out that what they thought was the north corner was actually northeast! If this is your experience, give the lo shu square a try. It’s very helpful to see plainly exactly where your home’s corners are and what’s exactly in the center sector.

Now…let’s talk about how to apply the grid and what to do when a room falls in two or more sectors. This is what many people find troubling and confusing.

If you apply this grid to your home’s floor plan, though, the lines that separate one corner from another and divide up rooms, sometimes can make a particular room fall in two or more of the nine sectors. The most confusing? When a room falls into four different sectors.

But when this happens, what do you do? Do you activate and enhance your room by all four corners or just one?

This is the quandary many people have when trying to assign “corners” to their house. Here’s another way that can actually help you see assigning these corners in an easier, more natural way. In fact, it’s called “natural room assignment.”

In the diagram below, you can see that two rooms, the living room and the master bedroom are bisected by four corners, these are circled in yellow. Instead of leaving it this way, though, I’ve inserted green and blue boxes to show the room corners according to natural room assignment. This way makes a bit more sense, too.

Now, the living room instead of being a NW-N-NE-Center sector room, is simply a NW room.

The master bedroom is also the same way. But instead of it being the NE-E-SE-Center room, I’d say it is in the southeast. I would still pay attention to the actual corners (marked in red), but now you can just think of the living room as the “northwest room” and the master bedroom as the “southeast room.”

Also in the diagram, notice some rooms naturally don’t have that problem of being bisected by one or more corners or sectors, such as the southwest bedroom in this diagram. Occasionally, a room is cut in half – so what then? Again, using natural room assignment, you should be able to tell whether the room is more of one sector than the other.

Hopefully, this will give you some good insights into how to divide up your rooms and assign the corners more easily.
If you’re used to living in a comfortable, clean and organized environment that has good feng shui, you’ll want to stay in hotel room that feels like your feng shui home. But how do you do that?

Feng shui isn’t a difficult concept to use when you’re traveling and staying in hotel rooms. Plus, by using a little feng shui while you’re on the road, you can keep yourself energized and refreshed. That’s because we’re often tired when traveling and that often comes from being in a different environment even when that environment is a luxury hotel!

Making even some small feng shui changes when you’re traveling can make a difference in the quality of your travel and the quality of your energy and vitality. So take a few steps to ensure your travel and hotel room all have good feng shui for safe, successful travels.

Before you leave

Packing for your trip can often be frustrating and worrisome….how many pairs of shoes to take? Will I need an umbrella? Before departing think about your energy, rest and relaxation, too. While you’re packing consider adding a few extra items to your suitcase:

Sheet spray. Giving the hotel sheets a spritz of lavender before bed helps to clear the room and pampers you too. You can also use it to freshen the scent in your hotel room.

A candle. Add some fire and zest to your hotel room by packing a travel candle. It’ll perk up your hotel room with its fire chi and if it’s scented, make your room smell fresh and inviting. The fire energy of the candle will also help spark friendly conversations and excellent social energy during your travels.

A Bluetooth speaker or small portable speakers are a way to introduce some calming and relaxing music to help soothe jangled nerves after long day of traveling.

Night light. Waking in the night to a strange room can find you bumping into walls. Bring a simple red or pink night light (red light won’t wake you up) to help you find your way without being as disturbing to sleep as a white night light is (http://bit.ly/1BWPdrh).

Earplugs. Sometimes other hotel guests can be noisy and prevent you from sleeping soundly. Always bring earplugs to help you rest more fully.

Dollar bills. Housekeepers make up our beds, bring us fresh towels and keep our rooms tidy. Show your appreciation by leaving $2-$3 a day with a sweet note of gratitude. They’ll often leave you chocolates or other little surprises for your thoughtfulness. Your hotel represents you while you’re away. A small kindness not only creates a good deed, you’ll also ensure that the housekeeper working on your room will be carrying a positive thought of you – and that always lifts the room’s energy and your own as well.

Pretty silk plant or flowers. Adding a touch of greenery to your room makes it feel alive and adds a homey touch. Many hotel rooms can seem a bit sterile. A small bud vase with a flower or small green plant is lightweight and adds a living touch to a lifeless hotel room.

Conch or cowrie shell. Conch and cowrie shells are often thought of as the “travelers shell.” When displayed at home, they promote travel. But while away from home, a conch or cowrie shell offers offer the traveler protection on the trip, and they symbolize good fortune during travel, and are especially good for business travelers as they represent excellent business luck.

Lucky and protective talismans. Carry some small charms and items you enjoy to bring good fortune and protective chi to you and your room while traveling. Even tying your suitcase handles with red ribbon is effective!

Once you arrive

When checking in, always ask for a room with a pretty view if possible. Most hotels will try to accommodate your request – and having a pretty view is wonderful feng shui. Look at the room carefully once you arrive. Check to be sure you’re not next to an ice machine, a busy doorway or elevators. Also, make sure that the bed is in the “command” position and that you can see the doorway easily. If the bed isn’t oriented this way, or if it appears you’re in a noisy location, ask for another room.

Next, use these tips to help you set your room up with good feng shui.

Turn the lights on. Always turn lights on when you enter your new hotel room to bump up the chi in the room. Hotel rooms can be a bit yin, so turning on the lights will help give it a dose of yang energy.

Go ahead and unpack. If there’s room, set up your suitcase on the suitcase rack in the closet so your room stays neat and uncluttered. Place your toiletries in the bathroom so that they’re ready for your use. If you’re staying a bit, go ahead and unpack your suitcase into the dresser drawers.

Stay organized. Some hotel rooms look like a travel or cosmetics bag exploded. Stay neat, orderly and organized and you’ll be able to find what you need and your room will remain enjoyable to be in. When your hotel room is a mess, your energy wanes. As a traveler, your energy is often depleted and a mess only makes it worse. Try to keep your room as neat as possible to help the room’s chi – and yours!

Refresh your room’s energy. Upon arriving, open the curtains and if the weather permits, open the windows to allow fresh air into the room. Light your candle, turn on some relaxing music and add your flower or plant to your night stand and plug in your red nightlight. Move or cover the clock radio if it has bright numbers so it won’t disturb your sleep.

Cover mirrors. If your hotel room has a mirror opposite the bed, be sure to cover it before you go to sleep. Mirrors can disturb sleep and prevent rest, so cover them with a towel so you’ll sleep more soundly and be better rested.

Close the bathroom door. Just as you would at home, be sure to keep the door to the bathroom closed at all times.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7441309243944405856.post-15453152137426857862015-06-30T00:30:00.000-07:002015-06-30T00:30:30.703-07:00How to Buy a House with Great Feng ShuiYour surroundings can have a huge impact on your life – to the point of affecting your personal happiness, your prosperity, even the opportunities that come to you in your life — thus making your choice of home a very important one.

Because most of the important moments in our lives occur in our houses, the house itself becomes more than just four walls where we eat and sleep. That’s why careful consideration is called for if you are thinking about purchasing another home.

So what do you look for when you are considering purchasing a new home?

It comes down to two things: the tangible and the intangible. The tangible items include price, location, size, and condition. The intangible includes considerations such as location on a street, how the home is situated on the lot, its relationship to other buildings or homes, how the home flows inside, and situations such as whether the former occupants were ill, in financial trouble, etc.

These are the types of considerations that are taken into account when you want to assess the feng shui of a home. Of course, these are not all of the elements that make up a home with good feng shui, but these are some of the important considerations.

Hopefully, this will serve as a guide for helping you select a home that is right for you and your family.

1. Buy a new house or “successful” house.

A new home does not have a history, making these the optimal choice. However, if you are looking at a preowned home, buy one from someone who is moving into a bigger house, got a huge promotion and is moving, or has won the lottery and is buying a villa in Tuscany. Then, you are buying into good feng shui and positive energy.

Houses that are for sale from a divorce, a foreclosure, or where there is a serious illness, or other affliction are not the best choice. To purchase a home such as this can mean that you are buying those problems too. How so? The house might be the problem. Or, there might be a landscape or topographical element causing the difficulty. It’s best to avoid these kinds of homes.

2. Buy high or level ground.

Houses that are situated on the side of a hill or where the back slopes away from the house are “losing ground.” Better also to buy a house where the lot is wider at the back than the front. Also, try to buy a regular-shaped lot. Square or rectangle shaped lots are especially good.

3. The inside story.

Make sure bedrooms are not over a garage, kitchen, laundry room, or open space below. Also be sure there are no bathrooms over a dining area or kitchen. This can cause illness in the house. Look at the arrangement of bedrooms to bathrooms so that beds won’t share a common wall with a toilet.

4. Get support.

It’s best for land to either be level or have a rise at the back of the house. Land that falls away at the back of the house creates loss and difficulties getting recognition and promotion. If the house has a building or a hill at its back, then it is supported.

5. Open up.

If the house faces open land or has a wide, open area in front of it, then it has the “bright hall effect.” This is extremely auspicious. Think of the White House in Washington with the large expanse of lawn in the front or the front of the grand Biltmore House in Asheville, North Carolina.

Make sure the house is not overwhelmed by landscaping. If there is a tree too close to the house, especially if it is in line with the front door, this is not good and will prevent opportunities for the homeowner. Consider removing the tree.

Likewise, if plants and shrubs look like they’re taking over the house (either planted too closely or growing on the walls), consider removing these as well and replanting elsewhere. A house should not be smothered by the landscaping. Dead trees are another “dead” giveaway that the house has declining chi.

6. Look both ways before buying.

What’s to the right and left of the house? Is there a house or building that seems to impose itself on this house? If the house or the land on your left is higher, this is good, as it is tapping the dragon energy. It is even more fortunate if the house to your left (as you look out of the house) is in the East. Is there a house with a pointed roof, a corner of the home pointed at your front door, etc., or aimed at the house?

Be sure to look at the approach to the house. Is it in a cul-de-sac? If the road ends at a straight line to the house, this is not good. Also, houses with a road behind and in front of the house suffer, and corrections can’t be made for these. Long straight driveways that end at the house, or roads that stop at the house, are another problem, but can be corrected with plants or mirrors.

7. What’s the situation?

The house should be situated on the lot correctly, which means it should not be set back behind the half-way line of the lot. It is better to sit a little forward in the lot than too far back. If the house is set further toward the back of the lot, it will always be in a “defensive” position and this can create problems in succession. Better to have a big backside (wink).

8. What’s in the Southwest and Northwest?

These are the two most important directions in a home. The Northwest should never have an open flame, such as from a gas stove or fireplace. If there is one there, move on to another house. This is feng shui taboo. To have a home such as this is to invite severe difficulties for the man of the house.

Also, look at the SW; this is the position of the woman or mother of the house. If there is a storeroom or bathroom located here, there could be marital difficulties and unhappiness. Consult with a feng shui practitioner about this if you just love the house but it has trouble in the SW corner.

Good luck with the purchase of your new home!

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7441309243944405856.post-88015115559835590562015-06-30T00:25:00.000-07:002015-06-30T00:25:17.609-07:00The Best Color in Feng ShuiThere’s a lot of debate and discussion about colors in feng shui. Is red the best color there is? Maybe it’s gold or ochre. On the other hand, black is the color of deep wealth. But then there’s purple….ah, the color confusion!

Let’s look at the colors from a different perspective. Instead of concentrating on a single color, let’s discuss them all and their role and meaning in feng shui.

Black – the color of deepest water that is stored, like the seas. It represents accumulated and stored wealth, limitless like the ocean. It also represents the kidney and ears, transformation, big business, and contemplation. Good to help overcome problems such as anger, selfishness, financial opportunity and protection from theft or fraud.

Blue – the color of shallow, flowing water and has similar associations as black. This is the color of opportunity, generating wealth and is useful for growth, opportunity, salary raises and payments. Can be used to enhance health and wealth, forgetfulness, and calming anger, and improving mental acuity. Blue is also helpful for your spiritual growth.

Red – the color associated most with fame, social standing, family name, the heart and eyes. Red is the color of happiness, joy and success in Chinese thought. This is the color for auspicious events, it stimulates good chi and activates. Red can be used for selfishness, stubborn pride, argumentativeness, and lack of inertia, energy or being too passive. Red is useful for abundance and material possessions, social regard, patience, adding excitement and enthusiasm as well as improving self-esteem.

Purple – the color of nobility and royalty. This is the color that can be used in any feng shui setting and sector, from fire and water sectors, metal and earth to wood. Purple adds both the best aspects of the elements of fire and water and brings great success and notoriety. It can be used for enhancing opportunity, your name, your confidence and for attracting investors and mentors. Lavender, the lighter shade of purple, also has the qualities in addition to helping you manage through stressful times and lifting your spirits.

Yellow – the color of earth and is regarded as a color of power. Yellow is often referred to as the color of wisdom, solidity, patience and virtue. This color helps ground someone who is too active, such as with ADHD, or someone who lacks concentration or frequently lies or cheats. Yellow is suitable for attracting relationships that are grounded and more serious versus frivolous or who has depressive tendencies.

Green – the color of small wood, such as leaves, this color signifies growth, hope, and tranquility. It emits healthy chi and is the color that can help with low energy, depression and infertility. Green is also calming and excellent for rigid personalities and stubbornness and improving self-acceptance. Greens can be used to bring new energy to your life, add happiness, intelligence and creativity as well as good test performance and athletic ability.

Pink – the lighter (yin) shade of red, pink has the added benefits of representing love, affection, happiness and joy. This is a good color for attracting love, improving your personal attractiveness, creating more joy and light-heartedness in your life and for steady enthusiasm. This is also true of other pink-related hues, such as burgundy or plum or nude. Nude or flesh-color is seductive and sensual.

Orange – the color orange is a mix of red and yellow, of fire and earth, and represents the earth element. It combines the best qualities of these two elements such as happy success, joyful abundance and solid, contentedness. This is a good color for insecurity, uncertainty and lack of cheer.

Brown – the color most closely associated with the large wood of a tree, brown also represents big, long-term growth and stability. Brown is a good color if you have problems with exaggeration or lying, rude or curt behavior, oversensitivity, and can help you become more patient and increase solid growth.

Gray – the color of metal and movement. Gray can help cut through conflicts, is considered good for stubborn resistance and improving quick movement and thinking for problem solving. Use to enhance creativity and faithfulness, guarding against gossip.

White – the color of metal and representing heaven, white has many of the same similarities as gray. White is also very powerful and has the ability to overcome. To capture the attention, white is very yang and can grab the notice of others. Women executives are advised to wear the color white to call attention to themselves and their ability. White represents clear cut beginnings and endings.

Tan – the color of earth element, represents stability and has much as the same characteristics that yellow and ochre have. It also signifies new possibilities, new ideas and is good for calming oversensitivity and building dependability.

Gold metallic – this is the color of the element of metal, and in particular, the metal gold. Considered the most precious metal element. Gold represents wealth, conductivity, ability to create more from less. Gold connotes prosperity and the yang, heavenly energy of the sun. Excellent when combined with red to represent wealth and the material abundance and ease of life. Use this color to cut through problems, add insights and provide illumination to problems.

Silver metallic – this is the color of the element of metal. It is also a precious metal and represents higher energies. As a conductor of energy, metal is excellent for representing movement, cutting through obstacles, improving stubbornness and willfulness. Silver is the metal that represents the energy of the moon, a reflection of the sun’s radiance. Use silver when you need a soft release from problems, adding more creativity or insight and better understanding of underlying issues.

The Rainbow – this is the single best color there is — a combination of all of them.

Rainbow energy in feng shui brings all the benefits of each of the colors to bear. Adding all the colors together creates a happy and balanced energy and boosts creativity.

Think of the Chihuly glass installation in jelly bean colors made famous at the Bellagio Casino in Las Vegas. Positioned right at the entrance, there is always a crowd here of happy, excited customers! Or, consider Ronald Reagan’s famous jelly bean jar that made him one of the most popular presidents in decades.

The rainbow colors are reminiscent of the rainbows we see in the sky. They could not be more harmonious as they are the joining of yin and yang – sun and rain! This is an excellent color combination to use to improve your outlook, your creativity, initiative and joy.

Adding multi-colors to your life in clothing, your websites, work presentations and in your home environment ensures you bring all the best qualities of all the colors to bear in your life. Plus, with all that balanced, happy energy, you’re sure to reap the benefits that come with all the energies of each color!
The presence of water is life-giving and in feng shui, it promotes wealth, prosperity and opportunity.

We could not live without water, yet so many homes rarely have water anywhere on the property. Even a small fountain can create a feeling of calm assurance and promote wealth luck and financial advantage for the homeowner.

Water is used many ways in feng shui.

It can be used as a remedy, such as for the Red 7 star. Yang water drains the violent and dangerous qualities of the 7 star. But water can also activate luck – especially when placed in the north, east and southeast sectors.

In the north, water helps stimulate career luck and brings opportunities to rise up the corporate ladder. In the southeast, water brings about good fortune that helps wealth accumulate. In the east, it brings growth and good health plus happy family relationships.

But creating a water feature that’s helpful for prosperity is often overlooked in home decorating and in feng shui.

Even when water features are added, many have dirty water or, worse, disappearing water. These new fountains symbolize disappearing wealth! There is a saying that like attracts like. And it’s true.

Our ancestors knew how water draws water.

Years ago when we used hand pumps to draw water, it often became impossible to draw water up a dry pump until water was poured down the pump. Miraculously, water would often begin flowing again once water was poured down the dry pump.

This perfectly illustrates the example of how simply having water can attract more water energy in the form of increased wealth and greater income opportunities.

Perhaps one of the best qualities about water is that it brings about auspicious chi that invigorates all the residents of the home, in addition to helping build wealth and opportunity.

Having water is always a benefit to everyone in the house. Currently, it’s especially auspicious to have water in the southwest as it will benefit for the woman of the house. If you can add a pond, a waterfall or water feature, you will attract much good fortune to your home.

But if that’s not possible, there are many ways to create perfectly wonderful and beneficial water features.

Here’s how you can build your own wealth-stimulating water urn

For photos, please visit this link

1. Use a sealed ceramic urn, pot or bowl for your water urn, like the one shown below. I saw these throughout Asia and they’re wonderful for creating a fountain easily. Make sure your urn is sealed completely. It’s much easier than trying to waterproof a pot with a hole in the bottom because they often leak — and that means losing money.

2. Next, place your water pump inside the urn. A small pump is all it takes to having water circulating and boosting your home’s wealth chi. You can use a simple pump from an inexpensive table top fountain or buy one from your local hardware or home store.

3. Decorate your urn with flowers and plants or a dragon for extra wealth benefits. This adds wonderful chi to your entire home!

4. Step back and enjoy your beautiful new urn that will promote prosperity chi and attract wealth luck to your home!
It’s one of the aspirations of feng shui – the gift and wealth of having friends and enjoying an active social life. This area is reflected in the south sector of the house. This sector also refers to the fame and recognition area of the home, as well as your reputation and family name.

Having friends to do fun things with, share your troubles with and who you enjoy being with truly is a gift. But what happens when your social life has dwindled and you find that you don’t have as many friends as you once had, or maybe you’d like to find people who you enjoy spending time with?

Besides love and money, feng shui can also help you activate your home for creating a lively social life and attracting new friends.

There’s a lot of questions about where to begin in feng shui to bring friendship luck to your life. Use these tips to help you build your social network or just have a friend to enjoy an afternoon outing with.

Picture your friends. One of the strongest ways to attract new friends and widen your social circle is to hang pictures of yourself with friends and at social gatherings in the south corner of your home and office. Find some pictures of yourself in groups and with friends and hang those up!

Social settings. To encourage more friendships and social interaction, place pictures of happy groups of people or pictures of social scenes. Eliminate pictures of solitary objects and people. These can lead to feelings of isolation and loneliness.

Activate the south. When you want to encourage new friend luck, the south is the sector to activate. Add red colors here or an image of birds, especially the phoenix.

If you don’t have a phoenix, a rooster makes a fine substitute. The plumage on the phoenix represents others acknowledging and recognizing your unique qualities and abilities – perfect for attracting new friends.

Brighten your life. A brightly lit south corner will help create more yang energy that brings you to the attention of new people and social circles. A sparkling chandelier, a lava lamp, or other light such as twinkle lights in a plant all are great activators for activating new friendships – especially when placed in the south and southwest corners.

Activate your personal growth direction. Attracting friends can also be accomplished by activating your personal growth direction according to your kua number. You can also activate your personal peach blossom number. This direction is most often used for love, but you can use it to attract new friends, too. For more information on how to do that, please be sure to read this article and attached chart for information about your peach blossom direction and how to activate it.

Declutter. One of the best ways to open space for new things and changes that you want in your life is simply to declutter. Tackle that corner of the porch that’s filled with cobwebs and junk, the corner behind your desk, the closets and drawers you use most frequently and get rid of old clothes.

Get out there. Now that you’ve decluttered, activated and brightened up your social life and friendship sectors, do your part, too. That means being more active and putting yourself out where you will meet new friends.

Try going online and joining meetup groups, join a book club at your local library or bookstore, enroll in an evening class or join a group that bikes, hikes, or does charitable activity. This ensures you do your part of the trinity of luck – your man luck. Feng shui is your earth luck and your man luck – the actions you take – will be compounding by your feng shui.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7441309243944405856.post-84420575493628772002015-05-02T22:54:00.000-07:002015-05-02T22:54:05.307-07:00How Collections Go from Interesting to OverwhelmingOne of the frequent targets of feng shui is clutter, and rightly so. Clutter drains our life energies, saps on mental energy and drowns us in the possessions that we once took interest in to where they simply take over our homes, and our lives, in some instances.

It doesn’t matter how a collection starts, but what begins as an interest or even a gift, can go quickly from interesting to overwhelming. The energy of the collection then begins to take on a life of its own.

Think about people who have collections that you may have known….or your own.

Maybe you saw their house went from seemingly normal to feeling somewhat odd or sometimes obsessive, depending on the collection. That’s how fast collections can get out of hand.

Sometimes a collection was never the goal, but they happened anyway.

Like the funny camel your brother gave you and then suddenly, you’re getting camels for every occasion and from everyone. Camels begin to take over your life until you don’t see the camels anymore. All you see is clutter and stuff everywhere.

Or worse, when you look at your camels you just see your Great Aunt Martha when she so lovingly gave you the camel she bought on her bus trip to Pike’s Peak, but now she’s gone and that camel is your connection to her.

But it really isn’t. It was the times you shared with your aunt that mattered, not the camel. If you have a collection and are not sure if it’s draining or benefitting your life, give these thoughts some consideration. You might not even have a camel but realize there might be some items you’re living with that have gotten out of control.

Is it still interesting to you?

Maybe you loved collecting tennis visors from every hotel you visited years ago, but do you still feel the same? If you don’t still have a passion for tennis visors, that’s OK. It’s alright if you grow and change and no longer feel the same way. If so, donate them – or sell them on Ebay. There’s always someone willing to buy a full “set” of anything.

Is your collection/clocks/visors/spoons/fill in the blank with your item the first thing people notice when they come to your house?

When you’ve been collecting a long time, you may not even notice your collection after a while. But if visitors notice your hats/dolls/porcelain pigs/thing that’s gotten out of control the first thing when they come in and comment on it, you might have become blind to how much your collection has overtaken your home.

Does your collection enhance your home or overrun it?

Take a good, hard look. Does your collection seem interesting or odd? A preoccupation with garden gnomes everywhere may tip the scales toward eccentric…and that’s when the collection can become yin. Instead of lifting up the energy of the home, the collection starts taking the house backwards. The collection drains the energy of the home’s occupants to the point that they’re fatigued, feel uninspired in life and the house seems listless and dull.

Does your collection make you happy?

Again, this could be blindness setting in. If you’ve grown out of your awareness of your collection and don’t really notice it anymore, then ask yourself if it’s still making you happy. If not, it might be time to pass it on, donate it or throw it away.

Are you or your house overwhelmed by your collection?

You might not even notice when a collection has become so large it ceases to be interesting, and is energetically taking over your home in a way that you’ve not noticed, much like the frog that doesn’t realize he’s being boiled to death raising the temperature one degree at a time.

Is your home balanced?

Balance is an important part of feng shui. Just like it’s easier to drink water from a glass than it is from a fire hose, it is hard to succeed in life when your home is overrun by a collection. Even family photos can grow out of control, covering every inch of wall space.

Stand back and really look at your home. Has your attachment to certain items turned into a collection that you didn’t even know you had – like all the old electronics you can’t seem to get rid of or the old magazines you’ve been saving?

Has your attachment to your collection grown out of an emotional attachment?

A client once had a collection of baby dolls that she started after her daughter died at age 3, a time when little girls start playing with baby dolls. She’d never made the link that the baby dolls she collected were connected to her daughter’s death, but once she did, she was able to donate her collection to a doll museum, and more importantly, move past her grief once and for all.
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7441309243944405856.post-4711894306329558602015-05-02T22:51:00.003-07:002015-05-02T22:52:12.604-07:00 The Feng Shui of Views that Can Change Your LifePut your back into it. Keep your nose to the grindstone. These pithy sayings are meant to instill the value of consistent work effort.

And, for the most part they're true, because consistent work pays off, but sometimes when you're busy looking down all the time, you lose sight of where you're going.

Feng shui offers us an opportunity to lift our eyes and create movement in our lives instead of drudgery, or worse, the awful position of feeling stuck in a "Groundhog Day" kind of life.

Too often we fall into the rut of day by day living to the point that we can't imagine anything different or anything better and our vision gets cut off.

I'm frequently surprised at the shocked expressions I get when I ask people what they want and ask where they see their lives going or where they want their lives to go. They're stunned because they can't imagine anything different or anything more than that grindstone where their noses are pointed at every day.

And who can fault any of us for this?

Most of the time, the thought of something better in our lives never enters the picture because we're so busy just trying to get through the day, get the bills paid on time, the kids fed, car gassed and attend to all the other little details of our life that the big things slip silently by.

The idea that by shifting our views can make a meaningful change is sometimes hard to imagine.

But take, for example, a psychotherapist who specializes in trauma victims. The moment she walked into her office, the lucky corner (the corner diagonally opposite the door) held a dying plant. Her business was dying, too, and patients were falling away.

After a coworker took mercy on the plant and removed it, the psychotherapist made a special trip and purchased a beautiful silk floral arrangement to replace the dying plant. Her business shot up and within a few short days had calls and new clients coming in - and it's been that way since.

What you look at and what you see has a strong bearing on your life because we experience our life through our eyes.

Plus, I often teach in my Master Consulting Course, chi flows where the eye goes.

Feng shui stands as a tool to help you align what you see with what you want.

Use these feng shui tips to help you look up from the grindstone and raise your sights to the greater possibilities in your life.

Place your desires correctly.

Place a whiteboard, a vision board, or a big sticky note of where you want to go on the left of your vision or in front of you as you sit at your desk. You can place your accomplishments on the right of your desk or behind you.

By putting your goals on the left, dragon side, you infuse them with positive, yang energy, because, after all, you want to get there, right? That green dragon can give you a hand. Want more mojo? Place an image of a dragon by your goals.

Place your name high.

Never buy a welcome mat with your name on it like so many businesses have because (besides wiping feet on your good name), it causes you to look down. If you have a business or if you want to highlight your accomplishments, put anything with your name on it (like a sign or diploma) up high and prominently placed in your office or home, where you will look up to see it.

Follow the 6 Star.

Six is the number of heaven in feng shui and where the 6 Star is located is also the location of where people are who can help you. In 2015, the 6 Star is located in the Northeast, the corner of decision-making and education and thought. That means men will be instrumental in helping you acquire positions that help you grow and that teach you. In 2016, the 6 Star will move to the south, the sector of fame and success.

Paint your ceilings white.

White is the color of heaven and if your ceilings are painted a color other than white, you may find that your aspirations are either drowned (blue ceilings), fail to take off (yellow or beige ceilings), or you're scattered (green ceilings). Heaven is also an energy of protection, and we can all use that. White ceilings provide heavenly protection overhead.

Activate your lucky corner.

Look at every corner in every room that is opposite and diagonal to the door. Be sure to put some kind of activator there, such as a tall lamp, a plant, or beautiful object to bring beauty and significance to your vision. These corners exert a powerful influence on our minds and our thoughts. What to put here? Try a lucky frog to hold the wealth potential of the lucky corner.

Be choosy about representations of yourself.

Look for photos of yourself that are positive and uplifting regardless of whether that's a photo at home, your driver's license or your Facebook or Twitter photo. A menacing or sad-looking photo is a powerful representation of you. Make sure your picture, Avatar, or any representation makes a positive statement of happiness, success and vitality.
Often called “the lungs of the Earth,” trees take the carbon dioxide that we breathe out and return it to us as oxygen. They also prevent groundwater run-off and soil erosion. It is obvious that trees are a crucial part of our living Earth and treasured members of our landscape family.

Besides being beautiful, they provide us with shade, beauty, and a wonderful place to climb or swing from. Fruit and nut trees give us good things to eat. On a less tangible level, trees also exert a powerful influence on the feng shui of our homes. For this reason, it is important to look at the trees surrounding your home.

What else do trees have to offer us? Let’s take a look at the feng shui of trees.

1. Trees give excellent support.
Planted at the rear of a house, trees provide important “Mountain support” at the rear of a property. Ideally, all homes and businesses are situated on a lot with a rise at the rear of the property. If this rise is missing, or if the landscape is flat, or if there is nothing taller or larger than your house or building, vital support can be missing, making you have to struggle in key areas of your life. This rear support is a critical element in feng shui. Planting a row of 5 trees across the back of the property can simulate the missing support.

2. Plant bamboo for the best luck of all.
Bamboo is considered a tree although its habit is more like that of a hedge. At the back of a property, bamboo gives solid support. At the left or east side of the property, it gives excellent dragon energy – considered the best energy of all. At the front of the property, bamboo gives very auspicious energy for wealth and opportunity. The front is considered its most auspicious planting location, but bamboo anywhere is really terrific. So, consider potting bamboo to put in the front of your home!

3. Flowering trees bring reward.
Orange trees are believed to bring wealth and are especially beneficial when planted in the SE corner of the garden. Lime trees are also helpful and bring wealth, particularly to SE facing homes. Lime and oranges planted at the front of the house bring great opportunities in the form of wealth and advancement.

Apple trees are believed to promote good relationships in the home. Plant pomegranates to stimulate love – even pregnancy. Planted in the south, pomegranates and apples can also bring recognition luck. Plant peaches in the west for excellent and lasting children’s luck and family happiness.

4. Balance trees on both sides of the house.
If your home or business slopes down on the left side (as you look out of the house) or is low here, trees can be planted to raise the chi. This puts the auspicious “dragon” more in control, rather than the tiger (or right) side of the house.

Be sure to have trees planted on both sides of the house to keep the household harmonious. Trees on the left control the husband’s anger and trees on the right control the wife’s anger. Trees should be a bit taller on the left side of the house than the right (as you look out toward the street).

5. Trees promote growth and good health.
Planted on the east side of the house, trees can stimulate personal growth and good health. Select large hardwood varieties for this side of the house.

6. Plant pines for longevity.
Want to grow to be a ripe old age? Plant pine trees. These are considered to be especially auspicious when planted in the east corner of the yard.

7. Remove dead trees.
Dead or decaying trees can draw a tremendous amount of energy from a home. Be sure to remove any dead or dying trees, especially if someone in the home is ill or elderly. They affect the luck of the person in the corner associated with them. So, if you have a dying or dead tree in the northwest, you have harm to the breadwinner, in the east, the oldest son and in the southeast it would harm the oldest daughter. In the southwest, the woman of the house would be most affected.

8. Trees must not touch the house.
Any tree touching a house will give the house “yin” energy – which is negative energy. Make sure there are no limbs touching the house and that there is plenty of room between the house and your trees.

9. Keep trees away from the center sector.
Strenuously avoid having trees at the center of your lot or home (either in a container or in an inner courtyard) as this causes severe financial difficulties.

10. Use trees to block negative energy.
If there is a view of something that is unappealing, or a church, hospital, or cemetery directly across from your house, plant a row of trees to block the energy. They can also be planted to block poison arrows created by roads.

11. Trees must not be planted in front of the door.
Trees that block a door, block opportunities and promote personal struggles with finances, career and growth. Either remove the tree, or if you can’t cut the tree down, then place a gazing ball or mirror that pushes the tree energy back.

12. Plant weeping willows in the water sectors.
Weeping willows and other weeping plants are generally not considered to be good feng shui. However, I believe they can be planted as long as attention is paid to where they are planted. Try to plant them where their “fountain” effect is utilized, such as the SE, N, or E sectors of the garden.
There may be instances when you moved into a space and just felt like someone else was there, or the space just didn’t feel right – it’s because of lingering negative energy.

If this sounds familiar, just remember you are not alone. Many people feel uncomfortable in spaces and can’t explain why.

The “why” is not important, however; what is important is that you find a way to make your space feel more comfortable so you can feel more at ease.

A first step would be to perform a space cleansing. Unlike “space clearing,” space cleansing doesn’t rely on getting rid of clutter.

However, if you have a bunch of old items and junk from previous residents or others, it is possible that some of the energy is coming from these old items. If that’s the case, then you should definitely take some of these things to the trash.

What’s more, if you have had a spate of bad luck and find that life has just been a constant struggle, it’s possible that you have some negative energies hanging around that are making your house yin – or negative in energy.

This is another good instance when it might be a good idea to do a space cleansing.

Space cleansing will help you feel more comfortable in your home or office, and let you move on in your space comfortably and in a positive state of mind.

Why bother with a space cleansing? Because negative energy gathers and compounds to create MORE negative energy. That’s why it’s important to handle negative energy by ridding your home of negative energy when you feel like your space isn’t quite right.

To ignore it is to allow more negative energy to build, and this can impact your health, your career and your finances, and even cause depression.

Regardless of why you feel the way you do, if your space doesn’t feel quite right, here are some space cleansing tips to help you clear out the negative energy in your house and invite good energy back inside!

STEP 1. Clear stale energies from the house.

If you have recently moved, you might be feeling some residual energy from past residents. If that’s the case, then consider using this technique: open everything that is closed. In short, you should open all doors, all windows, all cabinets, all boxes, anything that is closed should be open.

Then, walking from the front door in a clockwise pattern, starting at the front door. Circle each room and go into the next while ringing a bell. Be sure to ring the bell in the corners of rooms and in closets where negative energy can remain trapped. Complete the clearing by finishing at the front door and ringing the bell as you circle the front door three times to activate and clear negative energies.

You may want to proceed through the other five steps before closing everything up again.

STEP 2. Use salt to cleanse an area.

Another tip is to use salt to remove negative energies. You can wipe the walls with salt or sprinkle salt into the corners of the room. Be sure to sweep up the salt and throw it into the trash outside of your house.

STEP 3. Feed your ghosts rice.

If you feel extreme negative energy, you can also try sprinkling rice around the perimeter of your home, beginning at the front door and walking in a clockwise fashion until you come to the door again. The rice will draw the energy outside and away from the interior of your home. This is a terrific method of ridding your home of negative energy and space cleansing.

STEP 4. Scent the air to clear out negative energies.

Use smoke from incense or from herbs, such as lavender for transcending problems, eucalyptus for healing, or mint for prosperity. The wonderful and therapeutic scents of incense or herbal essential oils are all excellent ways to introduce beneficial energy and remove negative energies from a single room or your entire home.

STEP 5. Use light and sound.

Light and sound are two very effective “yang” treatments that help to dispel and remove negative energies. Tinkling wind chimes and bright crystal rainbows or lit chandeliers are both excellent ways to introduce beneficial – and cleansing – energy to your space. If you have done all five steps, it’s time to close up all the doors, windows, cabinets, and drawers, and then proceed to Step 6.

STEP 6. Take a salt bath yourself.

In the process of space cleansing your home, it might be a good idea to cleanse yourself as well. It is possible that you are bringing negative energy home from work or from the outside world.

Soak in a tub with sea salt or make your own sea salt scrub and wash your body in the shower with salt. Salt will purify you and remove negative energies from your body. This is especially helpful if you work in a hostile or gossipy environment, and will help you clear negative energy from your body.
Only when we have good relationships and harmonious feelings with our friends, family, spouses and partners, do we feel our happiest.

It’s this happiness in our relationships with others that creates contentedness with life, ability to move smoothly up the ladder of success — and often means that we are rewarded financially and emotionally for that harmony.

To be sure, feng shui for relationships runs neck and neck with interest in feng shui for wealth.

That’s probably because just like having no money feels terrible, having no love is isolating and feels awful too.

One of the most beneficial ways to use the wealth of mountain star energies is to create wealth. By activating earth energies appropriately, you can create smooth relationships that foster networking, such as in business or in your career, or have others bring opportunities to you because of the regard and esteem they have for you. This means you rise in esteem, prominence and social status.

Having good earth energy also means family relationships are happier.

This can include siblings, who notoriously are often at odds with one another. It can also include extended family, parents and children. If you run an office or have a business, having excellent mountain star energy can create productive and helpful work relationships, too.

Simply activating mountain stars can help improve your relationships right away.

The table below shows the locations of all the most important and beneficial mountain stars and their locations. One of the key details is where the mountain star is located. Mountain stars are more potent when they’re activated. Look for those corners in your house where you have auspicious mountain stars in the table below. Of course, the Mountain Star 8 and the Mountain Star 6 are the most potent and important stars and can be activated with geodes, vases, crystals or images of mountains.

Mountain Star Relationship Luck Activators

To activate the mountain stars, simply add earth energy! This can range from ceramic items to paintings and artwork that feature mountains. Bear in mind that real, actual crystals and stones are extra-powerful ways to stimulate beneficial mountain stars and help them transform your relationships from humdrum or antagonistic to harmonious and helpful.

Here are some terrific mountain star activators to improve and bolster all your relationships.

Genuine crystals.
Beautiful crystals such as geodes and rock specimens from the earth are some of the most potent activators for relationships. The symbolize the beauty and precious earth energy in its most beautiful forms. Use these crystals, like amethyst, quartz crystals, citrine or any stones to enhance your living room, desk, bedroom or entry way. For wealth, choose citrine and amethyst. To boost thinking and thoughts, have a clear crystal quartz point on your desk.

Crystal balls and crystal points each bring a different kind of earth energy, but both auspicious.

Smooth and round, crystal balls represent smooth and harmonious relationships. Add these in the center of the house to represent the uniting of heaven and earth. Six crystal balls look attractive on coffee tables and create beautiful relationship energy. Even one crystal ball is a wonderful activator for smooth and easy relationships and energies in the house, home or business.

Crystal vases, bowls or chandeliers.

Cut crystal that reflects light, sparkles and shows the multicolored rainbow from its facets are fabulous enhancers for relationships. Even small crystals hung in a window to catch the sun and throw rainbows around the house can bring beautiful loving energies wherever the colors shine! Cut crystal represents the sparkling beauty of happy relationships. Place these anywhere you have auspicious mountain stars.

Ceramic vases.

The vase has long been a symbol of harmony and is one of the eight auspicious objects of Buddhism. Their name in Chinese means “peace.” Having vases displayed wherever you have auspicious mountain stars helps to hold the precious and beautiful mountain star energy. In the location of the 4 or 9 star, flowers can be added for an extra potent boost. But don’t be afraid to leave them empty as they will collect and hold your auspicious energy!

Boulders and stones.

If you have wonderful mountain star energies, like the Double 8, you might want to tap the mountain star 8 by adding real stones and boulders. Having a stone wall or some type of stone feature is another fabulous way to activate the mountain star energies.

Light.

Because the mountain star is an earth star, it’s enhanced by fire, or light, which represents fire. Having brilliant bright lighting in the locations of your mountain stars will create more beneficial energy that enhances the mountain star energies. So, think about outside lighting, twinkle lights, crystal chandeliers – anything to brighten up your mountain stars. They’ll thank you in happy, harmonious relationships!

Mountain symbols.

Mountain symbols can include pictures of mountains, sculptures, even a pile of stones that are a mountain shape – all activate the mountain star energies. If you select a picture of mountains, look for one that has the number of peaks that correspond to the number of people in your house, such as four, if you have four family members or if you’re activating the 4 mountain star. In your office, it would be appropriate to have a single peak, such as Mt. Everest – and would be especially helpful to activate the 1 mountain star.

Remember, if you have an 8 wealth star, for example, and you have a bathroom located here, you can always activate the star in that corner of the living room.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7441309243944405856.post-37190077760165264802015-02-14T00:21:00.000-08:002015-02-14T00:21:30.623-08:0010 Feng Shui Wealth-Producing Tips for HandbagsIt's an indispensable tool, a valuable fashion asset and a source of all manner of important things like breath mints, a safety pin to fix a broken zipper, or keys to entertain a toddler.

A woman's purse is a collector of things - and sometimes those things are downright unhealthful.

According to recent studies, a woman's purse ranks as one of the top ten germiest items we come in contact with on a regular basis. Ironically, a woman's handbag is also the place where she carries her wealth and financial power.

Is your purse a symbol of wealth or is it a danger to your health?

Maybe it's a little of both.

Interestingly, for women, a purse is often a symbol of the self.

An attractive, organized purse makes us feel better and more in control of our lives. When our purse is a mess and we can't find anything, we feel lost and our bank accounts often reflect that scattered state.

Simply put, a purse with good feng shui is a purse that is organized, a handy resource, and supports its principal purpose: holding your money and financial wherewithal.

Read these tips to get your purse in tip top feng shui shape -- and make you more prosperous!

1. Elevate your purse.

You'd never see a man put his wallet on the floor, yet women put their purses on the floor all the time - in the restroom, at restaurants, at work. Always keep your purse elevated and off the floor. And never, ever, put it on the floor of the restroom. Hang it on a door hinge or the corner of the door. A great idea is to buy a purse hanger for those times when you want to put your purse down, but not on a floor.

2. Keep it clean.

Resist the temptation to throw gum or food wrappers, bits of paper or used tissues into your purse. What does it say when you carry trash in the same place as your money? Garbage should go in a trashcan and never into a purse.

3. Mind the change.

Avoid throwing change into your purse where it will fall to the bottom of the bag. This is disrespectful to money. If it's too inconvenient to put change into a zippered coin compartment in your wallet, buy an old fashioned coin purse that makes collecting change easy - and getting it out for tolls or parking meters -- convenient too.

4. Be prepared.

Carry a small safety pin, a tiny container of dental floss, a small notepad with pen, a small pocketknife, highlighter pen and bottle of eye drops. Little items that make your purse a point of refuge in the world make you love your purse even more. Better still, when someone has a broken zipper they will forever remember you and your purse of wonders! Lastly, carry a $100 bill, but don't spend it. Having a purse (and some cash) at the ready helps you be prepared for financial surprises, and you can always say that you have money. ;)

5. Activate your purse.

If you see auspicious purse charms or tassels put some of these on your purse. These hangers are great for pumping up the feng shui volume of your purse and activating it for wealth. Choose hangers that appeal to you and that look especially pretty and coordinated. Yes, pretty is good feng shui!

6. Buy thoughtfully.

Like a bra, never buy a purse just for the fashion name or for how it looks. Make sure the purse hangs on your shoulder comfortably, and like a good bra, stays there. Even better, find a purse with enough compartments to hold small items like pens, your cell phone, and other items you need to get to quickly. Make sure you can easily close your purse for security sake, that you can find what you need and that the purse is working for you, not the other way around.

7. Use a key keeper.

These small hooks fit onto your purse and keep you from fishing around for your keys, which can endanger you if you're trying to find them at night in an empty parking lot. By hanging on the edge of your purse, you can access your keys faster and more easily. This says you can find your way financially too.

8. Avoid wallet clutter.

Get a wallet that helps you stay organized with your money. Your money should be easily arranged, not rammed into a wad, and your credit cards should be easily accessible. Also, have only as many credit cards as you absolutely need.

Too many credit cards becomes a financial trap, a credit score nightmare, and, well, clutter. When the clerks ask if you want one of the store-name-credit cards, tell them "No thanks; I'm cutting down on wallet clutter." Who can argue with that? Lastly, make sure your wallet has more room for money and less space for credit cards.

9. Choose your wealth color.

Selecting a purse in a color that resonates with your personal wealth energy will help stimulate your wealth and money-making opportunities. If you don't want to buy a purse in your personal wealth colors, other good options include red, metallic, white, black, and blue. The best choice for the year? Read #11 below.

10. Pursue love.

The No. 1 feng shui rule for your purse? Don't buy it unless you absolutely love it - and then treat it that way. Keep it clean, organized, and off the floor. Your money mojo will be activated and you'll have more to spend and save. Show your purse some love!

11. Bonus Tip: The best color purse for 2015? Combining a goals list with a vision board is especially powerful.

In feng shui, when compass feng shui, flying star or another type of feng shui merge together, this is called “compounding” feng shui. The feng shui then, because it’s multiplied, becomes more potent. The simple act of writing out your goals is powerful and then to compound it with a vision board makes it more powerful still.

Add feng shui to the equation and you have a vision board that can propel you to a whole new place in life.

Are you ready for that? I mean, really, ready? Many people say they want something new, but new can be scary. Just be ready to move forward if you do this.

A vision board is a natural fit with feng shui.

Feng shui focuses on what is seen and unseen — energy that is both intangible and tangible. We understand that at any given moment whatever we are surrounded by influences us. If we are surrounded by mess, we may feel frustrated, annoyed, and not know why. If sad pictures or painful reminders are in our presence, we may feel depressed and unable to move ahead in our lives.

Select symbols that are meaningful to you

Feng shui understands that symbols are influencers and important ones at that. When you are selecting symbols for your vision board, select symbols meaningful to you. That might include the number “13.” Many people think it’s a negative number, but if it’s meaningful in a positive way to you, then include it.

Select symbols from the 8 Aspirations

These are the principles that feng shui is founded on. Each aspiration is tied to a particular direction. Career is the aspiration of the north, health is the east, travel the northwest. Next, using the directions from the bagua, place the corresponding aspiration is the appropriate corner.

Start with the north or career in the bottom middle of your vision board (or top middle like the board above). Then moving in a clockwise direction, add the aspiration symbol for northeast in the lower left corner. This could be a book if you’re a student, a deity for spirituality if that’s your interest or any symbol of general wisdom.

The next corner is the left, or east corner. Place an image of health, a lush plant, a picture of a woman jogging or any symbol that is meaningful for health for you personally. Continue going around your board in this manner. This clockwise movement adds stimulation to your vision board, going from yin (north/water) to yang (south/fame/reputation) and back to yin again.

Don’t forget to add a spark of life

It’s important that you have an energizing spark on your vision board. It should appear vibrant, active, interesting. Place your most important image in the center of your vision board. This can be the central theme of your board if you like. You can then use symbols that support that central theme and still follow the directions of the bagua.

Lastly, every item must be “energized” in order for it to imbue precious yang energy. To create this, simply add something red on your vision board. You could also loop a piece of red ribbon through your board or glue red paper to the back.

Place your vision board prominently

You won’t get very far if you can’t see where you’re going.

That’s why it’s vital that you make sure you place your board where you see it prominently and often. This will help to encourage you and keep you focused on what you want in life and where you want your goals to take you.
A still clock represents death and going backwards, plus limited opportunity.

DON’T hang clocks in the east, family sector, of the house or living room as this can cause problems in the family or oldest son, rifts and severe health problems. Clocks represent metal and should not be placed in a wood sector of family.

DON’T hang a clock too high on a wall as this appears that time is over you and this implies death.
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7441309243944405856.post-83986841721999864712014-11-19T22:20:00.000-08:002014-11-19T22:20:16.708-08:00How can I keep the water energy in my homeQuestion:

I love having a fountain at the front of my house but as the winter closes in, the fountain will freeze. How can I keep the water energy in my home going, and where should I have water?

Answer:

That's a great question. Obviously, if you live in a cold area that freezes fountains solid, it's hard to have water running. I recommend that you place water wherever the 1 star of opportunity and victory over the competition resides. In 2014 that area is the southwest. In 2015, the east will host the 1 star, so place a fountain in your home in the east corner or if that's a bedroom or bathroom, place it in the east corner of the living room instead. By the way, the 1 star is VERY happy in the east this year! It's great to activate opportunities for growth, for your family, and for health.
